If you like your caffeine with a touch of decadence, try this chocolatey homemade mocha recipe to warm you up and give you that morning coffee buzz.
If you’ve read our in depth article on mochaccinos and where the came from, you might feel like giving one a go yourself. This mocha coffee recipe is creamy and delicious but with a strong coffee hit. If it’s not sweet enough for your taste, add sugar to taste like you would your normal coffee.
1 shot of hot espresso
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder OR dark chocolate shavings
1/3 cup of full fat milk
1. Brew one shot of espresso coffee using your preferred method
2. Stir chocolate or cocoa powder into hot espresso
3. Froth milk with a steam wand/milk frother OR heat in the microwave and then shake vigorously in a mason jar (be sure to hold a tea towel over the lid in case of leaks)
4. Add the hot frothed milk to your coffee and chocolate mixture and enjoy!
For something even more decadent top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder!
